Village of Hempstead Mayor Wayne J. Hall, Sr. set to recognize ABG Schultz Middle School runners-up in OBMLI African American Academic Challenge




**MEDIA ADVISORY**

(HEMPSTEAD, NY) - Students Elijah John and Timothy John of ABG Schultz Middle School, both runners-up in the 100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. African American History Academic Challenge, will be recognized by Village of Hempstead Mayor Wayne J. Hall, Sr., Tuesday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m.

The students, both brothers, will be honored at the Board of Trustees meeting at Village Hall. The students will be presented with certificates for their participation in the jeopardy-style, Academic Challenge hosted by Newsday. State Farm Insurance has provided scholarship awards in the amount of $500.00 to winners of the Junior and Senior Divisions who go on to compete at the national level during the 100 Black Men of American, Inc. National Conference. This year’s conference will be held in Ft, Lauderdale, Florida from June 16, 2010 – June 20, 2010.
