100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. conducted its planning session to implement their mission of Four for the Future



PRLog (Press Release) – Aug 03, 2009 – On June 24, 2009 100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. conducted its planning session to implement their mission of Four for the Future - Mentoring, Education, Health & Wellness and Economic Development.

100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. was established in 1974 and incorporated the same year as a non-profit organization. The purpose of the OHBMLI is to improve the quality of life in Nassau/Suffolk Counties. The membership of OHBMLI is composed of men who demonstrate excellence in a broad range of professional endeavors.

The 100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. seeks to serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing our diverse talents to create an environment where our children are motivated to achieve and to empower our people to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve.

For more than four decades, 100 Black Men chapters around the globe have touched the lives of more than 500,000 young people. Through the 100’s 4 For The Future: Mentoring, Education, Health and Wellness and Economic Development programs, young people are given a competitive edge.


With a mission to improve the quality of life of our citizens and enhance educational opportunities for African- Americans, our members continue to serve as a strong force for overcoming cultural and financial obstacles, the achievements of African-American youth, emphasizing young African-American males.

As a part of the 100 Black Men of America’s “4 For The Future Initiative” Economic Development, Education, Health & Wellness and Mentoring, the Long Island Chapter is engaged in a targeted effort to provide holistic support for youth we serve.

We hope to improve the chances of success for young Black Men by encouraging them towards success in the educational process, sharing with them our collective life's experience, imparting to them a system of values and ethics, and exposing them to the world beyond their immediate communities.
