LLOYD GRIFFITH, PH.D TO BE GUEST SPEAKER AT 100 BLACK MEN OF LONG
ISLAND, INC. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Provost to speak as part of Black History Month Program


(HEMPSTEAD, NY)-York College Provost & Senior Vice President,
Academic Affairs Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith, Ph.D will be the guest speaker
at the Black History Month Program of the 100 Black Men of Long
Island, Inc.

Location: Chapter’s headquarters 9 Centre Steet, Hempstead, New York 11550
on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Dr. Griffith will speak on,‘The Role of Mentoring in the Obama Era!’

As Provost at York College of The City University of New York, Dr.
Griffith also holds the rank of Professor of Political Science.

A specialist on Caribbean and Inter-American security, drugs, crime, and
terrorism issues, Dr. Griffith has published seven books, including
Strategy and Security in the Caribbean (Praeger 1991), Drugs and
Security in the Caribbean (Penn State University Press 1997), and
Caribbean Security in the Age of Terror (Ian Randle Publishers 2004).

The evening will also include the historic unveiling of the painting
“Day of the Last Debate” by William West, Artist & Chronicler of
Historic Events.

The painting depicts the various events that took
place around Hofstra University on October 15, 2008, the day of the
last U.S. Presidential debate between Presidential Candidates John
McCain and Barack H. Obama.
